What People Are Saying

I’m so glad I had the chance to visit this place. The owner was so friendly and knowledgeable. We tasted all the wines and they were great. We took a couple home for later. We will be coming back for sure when we’re in town next.

History Snapshot

Wildcatter Winery first opened in 2012 under the name of Cella Wines and was acquired in 2020 by the Spencer family.  At that time, the winery started operating under the name of Cella Winery.  In 2025, the Spencers decided to rebrand under its current name, “Wildcatter Winery”. Since 2020, the new owners have become extremely active in the community, participating in festivals and events in the region, updating marketing ventures, and releasing new wine offerings that represent the area.

Ownership and Operation

Micah and Ginger Spencer own and operate the winery and vineyard.  They have three beautiful young daughters who will truly be a vital part of the business in the coming years.  Though Violet, Twyla, and Brie may be a bit too young to master winemaking skills today, you can be assured they will be deeply involved as Wildcatter Winery continues to be a true family-owned and operated business.

Micah left the career of a petroleum engineer for a business that he could work in every day while being with his family and involved in the community.  The result was the winery in Kingman, AZ where he applied viticulture and enology education along with his Wine and Spirt Education (WSET) to revitalize the vineyard, winery, and tasting room.

Vineyard

Located along the historic Route 66, Wildcatter Winery’s 10 acres of land sits in the Mojave Desert in Kingman, AZ.  The property is only 40 miles from the Grand Canyon and ~100 miles southeast of Las Vegas, NV.

All processes of the winemaking take place on-site.  The fermentation process takes 1 to 2 weeks before being moved to barrels.  Bottling and labeling are completed after aging.  The grapes that are currently being grown at Wildcatter Winery are Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Sangiovese, Merlot, Chardonnay, Nero d’Avola, Moscato, and Barbera.  Wildcatter Winery currently has 15 varieties for sale and is especially proud to include award-winning wines among its offerings.
